A while back, Bennett was contacted by someone from the Augusta Levy Learning Center about participating in a fundraiser in town. The catch? He’d have to dance in it. This is the fourth year that the ALLC will be holding a “Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars” contest and Bennett was being asked to be one of the stars.
Star. My husband. The publicity and outpour of support from his Meet Me in the Alley project has made Bennett fairly well known in town. But I don’t think we were aware that he was this well known. Haha. He mulled it over for a couple of days and then gladly accepted. How could he not? There will probably never be another opportunity to do something like this. Might as well snatch it up right now.
The Augusta Levy Learning Center is the first Autism treatment center in West Virginia and is located in Wheeling. The proceeds from this dance (ticket sales, sponsorship, etc) will all go to this fabulous organization, which provides one-on-one intensive intervention to young children with Autism in the Ohio Valley. The more tickets sold, the more support this wonderful organization gets toward their amazing work here in our hometown. I think it’s fabulous.
Bennett and his partner are up against nine other dance duos, all shaking their tailfeathers and trying to take home the title of this year’s winner. I am so excited to see this come to life. Bennett and Chelsea have been practicing and getting their dance down to perfection. I think it’s going to be awesome. And although I might be slightly biased, I think they’re going to come home victors. I’m calling it now.
November 1 couldn’t come soon enough. I can’t wait!
I CANNOT wait to see this!!
I think they record it and release DVDs each year. I'm not certain but I'm hopeful that we can have a copy.
