Omni Tempore Shirt by Sofilantjes

Nov 4, 2014

I’ve been wanting to be a tester for these amazing designers that are all over the sewing world for a while now.  I know I’m not the world’s most amazing sewist…but I thought it’d be fun to throw my hat into the ring and see if someone would give me a chance.

To my surprise, Annemieke from Sofilantjes saw some potential in me and let me be one of her testers for her newest pattern.  Yippee!!  I was so excited about this particular pattern too…because it’s unisex.  I feel like Bennett gets left out of enjoying my sewing escapades because most of the patterns out there are for Louis or me.

[I was actually selected to test out the pattern in my size…so Bennett once again was momentarily shafted.  Sorry Bennett!!  But don’t worry.  I have some fabric already at home to make him his very own.]

The great thing about this pattern is that you have so many choices.  Short sleeved, long sleeved, banded hems, standard hems, cowl neck, hooded, pocket, no pocket…the works.  I tried out a short sleeved, standard hemmed top with a cowl neck in some super supple knit fabric that I found (shockingly) at my local JoAnns.

Because it’s a unisex pattern, the fit is a little looser in the hips waist and hips.  I’m planning on making it a little longer next time with a banded hem (mostly because I’m lazy and like to avoid actually having to hem things) but I did really like the fit.

It was a quick sew, fits really well and has so many different variations that this pattern can be used over and over (and over) again to make several staple pieces in my fall and winter wardrobe.  I’m excited to make it happen!

There is also this very same pattern available in children’s sizing.  Hellooooo new shirts for Louis!

Also.  I’ll admit that I lied just a little bit.  Bennett did get a shirt made from this pattern already, in a hooded, long-sleeved, banded version.  But it was for Halloween so he’s going to be getting very little use out of it in a practical manner.  But hey!  I still made something for him, right?

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
