Bennett is on a couple of committees here in Wheeling now, both of which are about the redevelopment of the city. It’s great that he’s offering some of his time and resources to this place that we call home. I’m excited to be a part of it all as well, even if I don’t get to be as involved as he is. I’m still planning to be an asset to the happenings around town…even it it means doing it through Bennett at times.
One of the groups he is involved in is the Ohio Valley Young Preservationists. There recently was a ‘steering committee’ put together by the founders of the group to hopefully help direct OVYP and the members into more concentrated projects around town. Bennett thought it’d be nice to get that group together for a formal(ish) Christmas-style dinner. And so we did.
And it was lovely.
The food was incredibly delicious (none of which I had anything to do with) and the place settings were super pretty. It sure felt like Christmas.
We finished the evening by playing ridiculous games and laughing our butts off for hours on end. Perfect evening.
