Sunday Lately :: Week 6

Feb 8, 2015

Hey all!  Let’s get this Sunday Funday going.  Week 6 is happening now, woot!
This week’s themes: Planning, Loving, Reading, Wishing, Feeling

Planning: Some fun things, but mostly in my head.  I am DYINGGGGG to go to a conference like the ones all of my Instagram friends go to.  You know, the ones filled with other bloggers and makers and they have a blast being around a bunch of people who understand what it’s like to live the mildly insane lifestyle you’ve taken on.  All of these conferences seem to be nowhere near Wheeling and I’ve been thinking that maybe we can change that.  Even if it’s just on a small scale.  Maybe.

Loving: Meghan Trainor.  I know that “All About that Base” is old news but her entire album is free on my Amazon Prime playlist and I took a chance, downloaded it and am now listening to all of her songs on repeat.  I think her voice is beautiful and the songs are a fun mix of old timey sounds with current day references.  I am usually embarrassed to like uuber pop culture related things but I’m throwing caution to the wind with this one.  Meghan T, you’re my girl.

Reading: All of the posts and dying over the cuteness overload from the Boys Can Wear Pink blog series.  In case you missed it, Louis was an absolute ROCK STAR for his special day.  And the rest of the cute boys in clothes that are awesomely hand crafted by people who love them rock pretty hard as well.

Wishing: I could always be on point as much as I was this past week with blogging.  Not to toot my horn or anything (TOOT TOOT) but I covered a ton of things in one week.  A ton!  Patterns, sewing, community projects, gender barriers, concerts…the works.  I’m also incredibly exhausted.  Those things could all go hand-in-hand.

Feeling: Lucky that Bennett and I are such great partners.  In marriage, parenting and business.  We spent Saturday evening sponsoring the Linsly School’s ‘Taste of Linsly’ fundraiser with our photography.  The whole thing was themed to be like a cruise, even to the point of photography.  There was a backdrop set up, where Bennett was snapping photos of couples/groups and he would run his memory card to me every so often, where I would start editing and printing the photos.  That way the guests had a souvenir before they left for home.  It was a lot of work but we made it happen.  I feel like Bennett’s photography business is really finding it’s stride and I’m happy to help any way that I can.  Plus, it gives me a reason to buy a new dress and get fancied up for an evening.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    Nicole and I have been wanting to do a conference too. There's one in Orlando in September that we're contemplating going to depending on the price. It would be fun if we all ended up at it!

    I was always a bit meh about All about that Bass, and then I listened to the rest of the album and now I heart Meghan Trainor big time. So much fun with the reggae and do-wop influences – totally bopping around to Meghan T. around here too 🙂

    I love that dress! It's so pretty. And I love that you and Bennett work together so well. It would take a lot of practice for me.. haha.

    I feel you with the conference. I'm loving your idea!
