Sunday Lately :: Week 11

Mar 15, 2015

Heyo!  Another round of Sunday Lately is coming right up!

This week’s themes: Planning, Loving, Reading, Wishing, Feeling.

Planning. My blog posts ahead is just not happening.  I wish it were, I feel so much better when I have scheduled posts ready to rock and roll.  I even anticipate them posting on their specific date and time and eagerly check to see them on my own site.  Even though I know what they say…because I wrote them.  I really wish I were the type of blogger that had this under control.  But I blog so much on the fly that it makes planning hard.  MUST. IMPROVE.

Loving. My newest discovery with sewing for Lou.  Have you ever figured something out that is so painfully obvious that you want to kick yourself?  I mean.  Really.  I discovered (after reading a suggestion someone made on a sewing forum) that you can substitute one panel of a knit shirt with woven and still have a functional shirt that little guys and gals can wear.  I am beyond excited about this because it will truly open up new fabrics for me to utilize for Louis’ clothes.  I am lazy and don’t really want to sew button downs.  The raglan shirt pattern that i use all the time is awesome because it’s such a quick sew and now that I can use all of the crazy awesome woven fabrics with it as well….my sewing just got a little more exciting.  I made three shirts yesterday just because of this realization.  I was that stoked.

Reading. Blogs, mostly.  My favorite blogs in my reader at the moment are: Max CaliforniaThe Sewing Rabbit, and Pattern Revolution.  And yes, they are all sewing related.  So sue me.

Wishing. I had the resources to hire an extra set of hands with my shop.  My busy flow is still going strong and I have so many ideas brewing in my head but no time to act them out because I’m always trying to keep up with what I have now.  I’ll figure it out eventually.  Just right now, I’m itching to try new things.

Feeling. Pretty freaking excited.  My mom has been living in Idaho since I moved away for college.  I miss having her within driving distance of me.  She is going to be moving to New Castle, PA soon…which isn’t next door (where I really prefer her) but it is much much closer than before.  Bennett and I need to head out to check out some houses for her and once we get her a solid place to live, she will be packing up and moving our way!  Louis is going to love having Nana around a lot more.  We all will.  Her moving date couldn’t come soon enough.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    That's so exciting that your mom is going to be closer! Why did she pick New Castle (out of curiosity – if you don't want to share, that's cool!)?

    I wish I could plan a little better too. I have all these wonderful ideas and time just slips away from me. Ugh it's so frustrating!

    She's moving to New Castle because the company she works for has a branch there…so she can move with the job security aspect and then make other decisions down the road if she needs to. 🙂
