Wheeling hasn’t officially kicked off their festival schedule. And I haven’t officially covered it in my usual way…because these pictures are from a week ago. But let’s pretend that I shared these right after we attended.
I’ve never been to the Celtic Festival before. Apparently I was living under a rock because I’m not sure I even knew I was missing it. This is like the 19th year they’ve been doing this and I knew about it for one year. I officially fail on the Celtic side of life.
To be honest, it wasn’t really Louis-friendly. Which is kind of a buzzkill for us, because we like to take the kiddo everywhere with us. There were a couple of things that he could enjoy, however. And one of those things was getting his facepainted. Which he literally wasted no time WHATSOEVER making happen. I mean, we literally had walked into the festival and Louis was at the table asking to be a tiger. Kiddo was ready.
Jon-Erik and Lilliana joined us and the little cutiepie got a little less of a dramatic painted look on her face, in the form of a sweet little flower. She is seriously the cutest thing in the entire world. Well. After Louis. So she comes in a close second.
It was nice to get out of the house on Saturday and be around a bunch of Wheeling hooligans, though. Festival season might not have started quite yet but it was a sweet little taste of what is to come. SO. FREAKING. EXCITED.
I simply adore Wheeling in the summertime.
