Sunday Lately :: Week 15

Apr 12, 2015

I’ve never (ever) been so good about blogging a series in my life.  Sunday Lately is the biz, for sure.
You should probably join in if you haven’t yet.  Just saying.

This week’s themes: Completing, Visiting, Repeating, Applauding, Scheduling.

Completing. A full 32-days of tracking food and exercise on My Fitness Pal.  Which is kind of a big deal to me.  Because I’m really good at getting serious about something like this for two weeks, not seeing any progress and then giving up.  I’m still trying to figure out exactly why my efforts aren’t showing any more results but I’m not giving up.  Not yet.

Visiting. The White House and other special places around our Capitol was amazing. Ah-mazing.  I generally hate all medium to large cities but I’m growing quite fond of DC.  I can’t help but love it.  The architecture gets me.

Repeating. The same activities with Louis over and over again.  This weekend has been full of tea parties with the kiddo.  We found a tea party set in the dollar zone at Target and he has been LOVING pouring water out of the teapot into the cups and pretending to be a little extra fancy.  It’s sweet and I love it.  A lot, really.

Applauding. Myself.  For being capable of blogging for 15 weeks straight.  On the day I was supposed to.  In the format I was supposed to.  Seriously.  I love that Nicole, Meghan and myself have decided to do Sunday Lately.  LOVE. IT.

Scheduling. A trip for Bennett. MY MOM IS MOVING HERE!  Well.  Not “here” here.  But close.  She found a house in PA and will be packing up all of her things and moving from Idaho in the next week.  My amazing husband decided that he didn’t want her driving across country by herself, so we are flying him out to Idaho and having him drive my Momma, her puppies and her most precious belongings (you guys. her sewing machine!) over here.  Everything else will be following in a moving truck.  I’m insanely excited to have her so close to us.  It’s been since my freshman year of college that I had her within driving distance of me.  So 11 years now?  A girl needs her Momma close.  This is amazing news.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    I'm in love with Sunday Lately too. When I've had an off week, it's a great way to get me kick started again. and YAY for being close to mommas again! Mine has never been more than 20 minutes away. I can't imagine being states away.

    It's no fun being super far away. Sometimes you just need a hug. Or her home cooking. Which are two things I am excited to experience on more of a regular basis. Plus I'm excited for Louis to have a more in-person relationship with his Nana. He loves her spoiling long distance…I can imagine he'll love it even more when she's here. 🙂

    Go you! I totally lose interest in something if I don't see almost immediate (and totally impossible results).

    Love that your mom will be close again! I've been within driving distance, but long driving distance for two years and it's so hard not to see her as regularly as I once did. I don't care how old I get, I need my mommy too!

    I've had so much fun linking up for Sunday Lately with you! I was bummed to miss it this week.

    I think having your parents near is almost more important when you're an adult. Because these are the "hard parts" of life where you need unconditional love, support and sometimes a smack on the head. I'm glad that she'll be here next week. Can't wait, really!
