Remember when I made this jacket for Louis last fall? Well I took the same pattern and made a completely different version of the shirt for him to wear to the Easter Egg Roll at the White House this past Monday. I ADORE this shirt. Seriously. I couldn’t have been prouder of something I’ve sewn for Louis. It turned out exactly as I’d hoped.
I sewed the unlined version of this pattern, still in a 4T, and this time around with a standard collar. Swoon. His jacket fits him pretty well still, so I thought I could chance it and make another 4T. The beauty of P4P patterns is that she makes the bodice pretty long on everything. So I don’t have to worry much about with length, even with my super long torso kiddo.
Oh my gosh, I loved putting the little details into everything. The back yoke, collar lining, cuff lining, placket and pockets all had a differing fabric than the main print. It was so much fun to see this come together. Honest to goodness.
I love that Louis loves the clothes I make for him. I’m hoping that I can continue to do this throughout life for him, because it seriously tickles me to see him wearing something I’ve sewn.
It also helps that he is incredibly handsome and the camera loves him. I mean.
The delightful fabrics I used were both found on Fabric.com…which is the best place to shop for me because I don’t have access to a local fabric store other than JoAnns. And my local JoAnns leaves much to be desired. This chambray with mini polkadots was amazing to work with. And I just LOVE how it turned out. :: heart eyes::

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your little dude is going to break so many hearts. That shirt is perfection and he's modeling it so well!
It makes me want to make about a billion more of these. If only I could hire someone else to cut the fabric for me, so I can just have the fun part of sewing it. 🙂
