#katymade15

May 21, 2015

Angelica, Meghan and I are all challenging ourselves to blog every day during the month of May.  We are hoping you can join in too!  Today’s prompt: Show off something you’ve created.

Out of all the social media outlets that are out there, Instagram is BY FAR my favorite ever.  Ever ever.  It’s not drama filled.   It’s visually pleasing.  You can follow / unfollow whomever you’d like.  It doesn’t always have to be a mutual following relationship (which I love because I have friends on Facebook I’d rather not have to see their drama/happenings/statuses about working out).  The networking is fab, I’ve made so many friends on there!  AND, the hashtags.

Seriously.  I was super against hashtags at first.  I didn’t get it.  But now that I do.  I really love them.

I love making weird and obnoxious ones.  Hello #summerwithoutpants !!

But my favorite part is having a hashtag that you can use to follow the progress of something.  I started #katymade15 in January, so I could document all of the things I’ve created during 2015.  So far, I’ve posted and tagged 75 things.  Which somehow doesn’t seem like a lot, considering my job is to make things.  But I’ve tried to keep it to just unique or new things.  Doesn’t always happen, but I’m trying.  Sometimes I forget to post things and sometimes I feel like I’m super annoying to follow and have 30 different shirts for Louis made up.  Trying to find a happy balance is tough. 😉

Here are some of my #katymade15 posts so far this year.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

Your Instagram account is the best. It's always so crafty and colorful! I love the paper flowers in the painted mason jars and the hand lettering. And of course, the shirts and dresses are fantastic.
