Angelica, Meghan and I are all challenging ourselves to blog every day during the month of May. We are hoping you can join in too! Today’s prompt: Describe your style.
On any given day, you will find me wearing:
- High contrast colors. Mainly in the form of stripes or polka dots.
- Ripped up jeans.
- Graphic tees.
- Feminine / retro silhouettes.
- Busy florals.
And on most days, you’ll be seeing many of those combined together for my daily attire. I don’t know if that can be considered any particular style but I’m going to say that my style matches my personality: Loud, Flirty and Nerdy.
I guess you are who you are, right?
And perhaps I should add “natural” to that list. I am a minimalist in terms of makeup and skincare, and that includes the blinding level of pale I rock on my legs all year long. I’d like to pretend that the beginning of summer is the worst because my legs haven’t seen the sun in a while but that would be a big, fat lie. My legs never retain any color. I think I just get used to the blindingly white color of them as the season goes on.
Part of my amazing Bella VoxBox from Influenster a couple of weeks ago was a travel size sampler of Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs. I have never been someone to try and change my skin color. Not by tanning, spray tans, bronzers…nothing. I have accepted my fair skin and it’s okay with me. Plus, I assume it’s going to look super obvious that I tried to look darker than I am.
But if someone sends you a sample of something, you have to try it, right?
Right out of the tube, the smell was a little powerful. But once I rubbed it into my skin, I didn’t notice the smell. And holy crap my leg absorbed the lotion! Voxbox sent me the medium color and I was ready for a comic hour on how different my skin looked. To be honest, it was actually quite natural and just gave my leg a sun-kissed glow. Which is what Sally Hansen’s promise was on their packaging.
I only put the product on one leg, for comparison purposes. Can you tell the slight difference in color between my left and right leg?
**Note to self: If you’re only putting a bronzer on one leg and wearing a skirt all day, you should probably make sure not to leave the house or see people that day. Whoops. Having two-toned legs is in, right?
I’m not 100% certain that I’ll be rocking Airbrush Legs this summer. I’d consider it during maybe a special event like I wedding or prom (if I ever lock down the details of it). Until then, you guys will have to just deal with these glaringly white legs during this year’s #summerwithoutpants where you will be seeing a lot of my aforementioned style, in full force.
So tell me. What is your style?
Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
While I do love free stuff, but that doesn’t stop me from giving an honest review. All opinions are my own. Pinkie swear.
I'm like you – my legs are pale 99% of the year and the lone 1% is when I use a self-tanner type product for a fancy occasion when I need not be soooo pale. I'm like an Oreo, my top and feet will tan, but the middle stays white.
You're adorable. You know I'm mom-crushing on you pretty hard! I think my style used to be a lot more wild, flirty, and nerdy. Lately it's neutral, comfy, and "seriously wishes she was taller" whatever that means. I just really feel like a tall girl trapped in a stumpy body. xo
