Oh boy, this weekend was a freaking blast. We had an entire house full of people and Bennett (via the Wheeling Young Preservationists) was participating in the Wheeling Feeling Chili Cookoff. We were non-stop on the move on Saturday and it was glorious.
My Momma came in from Pennsylvania.
My sister, brother-in-law and niece came in from Indiana.
And our friends Gordon and Becca came in from New Jersey.
Holy lots of visitors. And fun!
The chili cookoff was up first on our list. We had a chance to eat a little bit of chili and see Bennett and the rest of the crew that were working the booth and making chili to represent WYP…but the kiddos had other plans and wanted to play on the playground. So I feel like I spent a lot of my good “chili eating time” watching Louis and Delilah run around instead. I suppose it wasn’t the worst trade.
We busted out our giant bubble making contraption, while at home later in the evening…and it was as big of a hit as it always is. I know that there are really only pictures of the kiddos enjoying them, but that’s just because D and Louis are cuter than the rest of us. Adults love bubbles too. I promise. We could spend hours making these big ole’ things.
I had a grand idea to attempt some photos of my Momma with the two grandbabies. In case you’re wondering, this is how well the worked out:
So…we opted for a mother / daughter photo instead.
It was a fantastic weekend full of eating (so, so much eating), family, laughter, kiddos and story telling. We even busted out some old photos and yelled at our Mom for dressing us / letting us dress like we did back then. It was clearly all her fault.
Have I mentioned yet how much I love having my Momma close? Because I do. I need more weekends like the one we just had. It was amazeballs.
