Sunday Lately :: Week 24

Jun 14, 2015

This week’s themes: Updating, Reminding, Needing, Wearing, Being

Updating. My “years married” status to the number six.  That’s right, folks.  Bennett and I have been blissfully married for six whole years now.  Six years ago we cried, laughed, drank, danced and partied the night away with tons of family and friends surrounding us with love.  It was awesome.  And I want to do it all over again every single day of my life.

Reminding. Myself to learn to roll with the punches better.  We lost power on Friday night around 6:30 and didn’t get it back until 2:30pm on Saturday.  I was a mess.  Not only did I look like a greasy mess, but I was a cranky mess because of it.  I do not like things being out of my control.  Bennett kept reminding me that we need to work with the cards that we are dealt.  I tried.  I whined a lot.  I failed.  I’ll work on doing better next time around.

Needing. Apparently more sunscreen.  We were outside most of the day but honestly, I did what I always do, and hid in the shade and shadows.  Guess what?  I still got a burn.  Damnit.  Luckily it wasn’t a bad one but really how many different tan/burn lines can a girl really have on her chest?  #palegirlproblems

Wearing. A big grin because I had time and was able to whip out a couple of tanktops for sale on Friday.  Except I haven’t been able to post them yet, due to the whole “no power” thing.  Kinda makes being on the internet hard.  I’m hoping to get to them sometime today, if not by Monday at the latest.  Super excited to see how they go!

Being. Generally exhausted.  Running a business can really drain you emotionally and physically at the same time.  There have been a few weird, super bizarre and insanely frustrating moments with the USPS lately that make me want to throw my hands up and quit the game all together.  It’s hard because once something leaves my hands, I have no control over it.  And lately, that’s been proven to be a bigger pain than normal.  So.  Fingers crossed.  No USPS issues this week.  We can do this!!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
