Happy Father’s Day!! Hard to believe we are this far into June already. Where has the year gone? This week’s themes: Completing, Visiting, Repeating, Applauding, Scheduling
Completing. Another week of sewing and getting out of my comfort zone. This week, it’s with PANTS! I made myself a couple of pairs of SOS Pants, being a tester for Patterns for Pirates. And I also made a couple of pairs of shorts, for both Louis and myself. Jean shorts, in fact! I love mine so much that I have been wearing them more than I probably should since the day I made them. Whoops.
Visiting. Our downtown yesterday, in celebration of West Virginia Day AND the Wheeling Arts Fest. We managed to skip the rain for a couple of hours and be able to enjoy ourselves. There were acrobats, musicians, food vendors, artists booths, a new statue unveiling and just a general fun buzzing happening around the city. I love that they always have a kids booth, with activities for Louis. His favorite part is generally the facepainting station.
Repeating. A bunch of curse words. Because I spent a ton of time organizing my studio space instead of actually being productive. But hey! I was able to get everything back in working order and I actually like how it’s set up way more than before. Silver lining, right?
Applauding. This new planner of mine. I DIY-ed a new one for myself, completely from scratch. I mean, even down to the cover. And I have a mild crush on it. I think I even used the phrase: “Excuse me while I go make out with my planner.” I’ve even made some adorable sticker for holidays and vacations, etc. One day, I might get around to sharing them on here. Maybe.
Scheduling. Myself some time for crocheting. Or at least trying. I feel like my creating goes in waves. I’ll be heavy into crocheting and then sewing, and then something else. And eventually I’ll go back through them again. Last night, I tried making an amigurumi Minion for the first time. Well, an amigurumi anything for the first time. I have issues that I’m not good at following patterns, I like to wing things. So I did with this guy. He turned out pretty cute, Louis loves him, but now I know what I’ve done wrong and how I can make adjustments to make this guy perfect. I think. And if I do, I will be able to share this pattern on here too. So many things I want to do. So little time to do them.
