Sunday Lately :: Week 27

Jul 5, 2015

Happy July 5!  I’m a bit behind getting this up this morning…but that just means that I had an amazing evening with friends and family celebrating last night, and I’m a little slow to move today.  Let’s do this!

Doing. A lot of sewing this week.  Well maybe not a lot, but a bit.  I’ve got some blog features and blog tours that I’m a part of in early July, which means that I need to get my rear in gear.  I already posted the shorts that I made yesterday, and tomorrow you get to see another outfit that I put together for the Lou Bug.  It’s one of my favorites!

Appreciating. The joy of fireworks through the eyes of Louis.  We actually haven’t taken him to a fireworks show before.  Mostly because I hate fighting crowds and swarms of people and I’d rather be at home, harassing Bennett for shooting fireworks off at our house.  But man, the look on Louis’ face while he was watching them burst in the air was worth me reconsidering taking him from now on.  Just pure joy from that boy.  He loved them.  And had commentary about basically all of them.  It was adorable.

Designing. A few secret items for a big launch that will be coming in the next month or so.  Brace yourselves, it’s going to be awesome.  And I’m teaming up with an incredibly talented, sweet girl to make it happen…so I’m doubly excited about it.

Humming. Bruno Mars songs.  I know I should be ashamed a bit.  But I really do like his music.  And it keeps coming on the Amazon and Pandora stations that I listen to, so it’s hard to escape my guilty pleasure of his tunes.

Expecting. A lot of fabric in the mail soon.  Whoops.  Girl Charlee is having a 4th of July sale and they marked a crazy amount of fabrics down to $2/yard.  TWO DOLLARS.  How could I resist?  I’ve got some new stretch denims coming my way (hello jeggings for the fall and winter!) and a bunch of prints that can be used for shirts and clothing for our entire threesome.  And I didn’t even feel guilty about spending the money because it’s crazy cheap.  I mean, I can make a ton of stuff for much cheaper than buying them at those prices.  (Which is sometimes not the case in sewing because i sometimes have a habit of only wanting the expensive fabrics.)

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
