Sunday Lately :: Week 30

Jul 26, 2015

Happy Sunday, loves!  I’m hoping this week was grand (and that I’ve finally convinced some new friends to join in and linkup with us this round). Here’s what is up with me Lately.  You?

Completing. Another week of sewing lots of stuff.  But, sadly, nothing for Louis’ Time for School Capsule.  Shoot.  I need to get to work on that.  I mean.  I have a plan, just no action.  Maybe I can make it happen this week.  But hey, I did make myself some new swim bottoms AND a pair of denim skinny jeans (as well as something for Bennett and a dress I’m testing for P4P).  So let’s chalk this week up as a win, shall we?

Visiting. Our front yard.  In a tent.  I’ll be sharing more about it tomorrow, but we wanted to see if Louis was ready for camping and though it’d be best to try it out in our own front yard.  So we set up camp, cooked all of our food on the campfire and slept under the stars.  It was fun.  Super fun.

Applauding.  Bennett for his Lego-construction abilities.  It’s something I greatly lack.  I can sew.  I can graphic design.  I can photograph.  And I can crochet.  But I’ll be damned that I cannot build something out of Legos.  I can think it up…but unless there are instructions, I’m dunzo.  But Bennett?  Can he build it?  Yes he can!  Check out this awesome sewing machine he made me.  ::heart eyes::

Repeating. To myself, over and over, that I’m a lucky Momma.  Louis is a delight to take with me places, he’s always been.  And he gets excited to go on “Momma/Louis” dates.  Regardless of what that actually means.  Sometimes it’s a Target trip.  And sometimes it’s a lunch date.  Whatever it is, it’s one-on-one time, out of the house, with this hysterical/sweet/talkative/smart/creative child of mine.  We literally just chat the entire time.  Most of the time it’s about video games, YouTube videos or superheroes.  But if he’s talking, I’m listening.

Scheduling. The plans for the rest of our summer.  And by “summer”, I mean “days before Louis starts school again”.  Because, really…the weather has been weird and ever since I’ve been in the work force, summer is just another season and not really a vacation period.  But we sure are busy these next few weeks.  50th anniversary parties, Louis’ birthday, a Michigan trip/mini-family reunion, more summer camp, etc.  Crazy times ahead.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
