We are into the second week of the Time for School Capsule and I’ve made some (some!) progress on everything. I’ve increased the number of things I want to sew, like the insane person I am. But I’ve also started to get things together.
Yay me!
I haven’t really made any sewing progress but I have made some cutting progress. And that’s something! My plan of attack is to start on the bottom and work my way up. We wear pretty basic pants in this household. I’m not into colored or patterned pants. I feel like they look like pajamas too much. So not the look I’m going for.
Lucky me, I have a GIANT bag of clothes that I was *supposed to* take to St. Vincent dePaul’s Thrift Shop a loooooong time ago. And in that giant bag were a ton of pairs of pants. Things we don’t fit into anymore (why I’ve kept my fat pants around for this long, I don’t know) or have rips/stains on them. But they’re perfect for upcycling into new pants for Louis.
Denim is hard for me to come by. And it’s seemingly expensive. So this is a perfect way for me to get some new jeans for the kiddo without spending a dime. Yay lazy Katy! Good job for not doing something you were supposed to!
I’m trying to keep track of my progress both on my blog and on Instagram. I might dread certain parts of this process but I’m so glad that I signed up for this wild ride!
