Happy Birthday, Louis!

Our little sweetiepie is FIVE YEARS OLD today!!

I don’t know how it happened.  I thought I was keeping my eye on Louis, but apparently not close enough.  Because he went and grew up on us.  It feels like it happened overnight.

Today is a big day for everyone involved.  Not only is this the big F-I-V-E, it’s also his first day of school.  If you see me and my eyes are swollen from crying, you’ll now know why.  Birthdays shouldn’t make me so emotional, but they do.

Watching Louis grow and change through the years has been a true honor.  He really is a one-of-a-kind kiddo and Bennett and I couldn’t be more proud of him.  Raising a creative, smart, handsome boy isn’t going to always be the easiest thing ever, but it’ll be the most rewarding thing we’ll ever do in our lives.

Happy birthday to the little one who calls me “Momma”.  Who loves me unconditionally.  Who makes me laugh so hard I cry.  Who makes me swell with pride on a daily basis.  Who has dance moves most adults can’t break into.  Who has an imagination that will never be matched.  Who has a gentle and compassionate spirit.

Happy birthday to our little Louis Bug.  Our Bean.  Our Buddha Bear.

We love you kiddo.  Keep on being you.
