Peg Legs by Patterns for Pirates

Aug 18, 2015

Oh you guys.  I think I’ve officially found my favorite pattern put out by Patterns for Pirates so far.  Which is hard to believe because I pretty much own and obsess over all of them.  I just really like how Judy drafts her patterns…they’re for girls who have a little curve, some booty, a bigger bust.  And then she of course drafts down/up for other sizes.  But her designs always seem to fit me the best.

P4P is celebrating reaching 5,000 fans on her Facebook sewing group.  FIVE THOUSAND?  Holy potatoes!  That’s a lot of people, stitching up these patterns.  How amazing is that?  To celebrate, Judy did a quick release of these “Peg Leg” leggings.  (I can’t tell you the BEST part…but if do go join her group HERE, there’s a special code that will hook you up with a discount.)

Oh.  And by the way.  I am SUPER FREAKING STOKED because my image was selected for the cover of the pattern.  I basically feel like a rockstar.

I have been this unmotivated lump of a human being lately when it comes to exercising.  I was super into it right before my birthday and then we got busy, my business picked up and things like health fell by the wayside.  I picked Louis’ first week of school to be my jumping off point…which started yesterday.  Guess what helped me want to get back into it a little bit more?

New clothes.  And shoes.  The whole shebang.  I think dressing cute makes me want to workout more.  Is that weird?

The pattern comes in several different lengths.  Ankle, calf, bike shorts, and shorties.  It also is available in sizes XXS – Plus 3X.  During testing, I’m pretty sure I checked out everyone’s butts (we are testing pants…butt shots happen) and seriously, these pants made everyone’s butt look out of this world.  I’m not even mad at mine.

Also.  My pattern matching with these scales is something to get excited about.  Really.  I hate lining up patterns…and yet, I constantly sew with stripes.  Hmm….

By far, my favorite part of this pattern is the difference with rise in the front and back.  I’ve used another leggings pattern and I reeeeeeally don’t like it and probably will never sew it again because I can never figure out what is the front and what is the back when I go to put them on.  That’s super annoying.

Another bonus is that the waistband has ZERO elastic in it.  Super comfy.  No muffin tops!!

I’m in the size large.  Which fit like a glove.  Seriously.  Like butter.

My mint pants are made out of a scuba knit that I found at Girl Charlee [HERE].
My mermaid pants are made of a swimsuit fabric found at SpandexHouse [HERE].

And my shirt?  I’m so glad you asked!  That’s my design, baby!
You can find my “Sewing is My Cardio” tee in my Etsy shop [HERE] or my main site [HERE].
