Whew. What a quick freaking week this has been! I think it’s all because this coming week is going to be a big one: first day of school, Louis’ birthday and then his birthday party. Lots of deadlines and exciting things all coming to head at the same time makes for a very crazy and amped up Katy.
Dwelling. On the fact that Louis is turning five in three days. Five. Five, you guys. Five. How? Being his Momma has been the biggest privilege of my life. Having a birds-eye view of an individual from day one has been amazing. And somehow, five years has passed already.
Forgetting. That it takes a lot of prep work and crazy/creative planning to pull off birthday parties for Louis. We use his party as a way to flex our creative muscles. But it’s all things Bennett and I enjoy doing…if it felt like torture, I wouldn’t try and diy every little thing like I do. I do it because it’s fun. I promise I’m not going crazy and outside my means for this. I just have to put in weird hours making things like masks and legohead bracelets.
Switching. Out of my creative funk this week. It was a blessing to be back. I sewed up six shirts for Louis, some leggings for myself and a bunch of things for HE. Thank. Freaking. God. It is horrible to suck as bad as I did last week. Apparently I needed that Michigan refresher to get myself back into the swing of things.
Helping. Myself get back into an exercise mode by buying some new shoes (hello not having bought new tennis shoes since 2008). I also sewed up a couple of pairs of leggings. Cute outfits and new shoes should be a good motivator, yes? I’m really needing to get into a routine too. Louis being in school will throw us back into a solid routine…wether we can handle it at first or not.
Relying. On coffee this week. A lot of coffee. So many things to do. So many ideas floating around in my head. And not enough hours in the day to make them all happen. School. Sewing. Birthday. Birthday party. August is such an asskicker.
