Sunday Lately :: Week 37

Sep 13, 2015

Last week proved to be yet another week of being a crappy blogger.  Apparently August and September just aren’t my months on here.  If it weren’t for Sunday Lately bringing me back each week, I’d probably be an even bigger failure.  Yikes.  Regardless…I’m here and doing.  So let’s bring it on!  Here’s what I’ve been up to lately.

This week’s themes: Doing, Appreciating, Designing, Humming, Expecting

Doing. A lot of wholesale orders lately.  This past week seemed to be the week of me packing as many shirts into one box as I could.  It’s nice to know that boutiques across the state (and country!) will be carrying a line of my work.  It’s special to me that small businesses will be sharing my things on their shelves.  Their customers will be supporting two levels of local, small businesses…wether they know it or not!

Appreciating. Louis’ school and their outreach to parents all of the time. I don’t ever feel like we are in the dark with Lou’s education.  We get an email every weekend with a recap of what they’ve been learning, and the school hosts events for parents only all the time, so we can keep up with what is happening in the classroom and on campus.  I don’t want to “helicopter mom” Louis, but I want to be active and in-the-know.  And I think his school really helps with that.  We went to parent’s night on Wednesday and got to see his workbook and the art they’ve done so far in the classroom this year.  It’s all excellent.

Designing. Lots of new tees AND ornaments this past week!  I released my new “Feed Me Pumpkin and Tell Me I’m Pretty” shirt.  And I am super excited to see how they do.  The pumpkin craze is no stranger in my household…beer, coffee, pie, cookies, pancakes, etc.  We do it all.  I am not upset when September rolls around and you start seeing it everywhere.  Not one bit.

Humming. Right now?  I have “Take Me to Church” stuck in my head.  For no apparent reason.  I am literally typing this minutes after I woke up this morning and haven’t had any interaction with anyone, haven’t listened to anything on Pandora…nothing.  And yet, this song.  It’s a good song. BUT Bennett has this habit of finding a song he likes and (I wish I were joking) listening to it until it is dead to me.  Over and over and over again.  He did this with Chandelier by Sia, a weird choice for him, haha.  And he’s done this with this Hozier song.  As well as many others in the past.  Sometimes before I can even decide if I like the song or not, he’s played it so many times that my brain hurts having to listen to it one more time.  Oh Bennett.  Gotta love that guy.

Expecting. A busy week ahead.  I’m trying to get on top of things before they consume me.  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…..

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
