Sunday Lately :: Week 38

Sep 20, 2015

Good morning!  It’s Sunday again, which means it’s time to read about my happenings and share your own.  Don’t forget to link up with us this week (you’re totally allowed to link on a non-Sunday day, no one will tell on you).  Let’s do this!

Today’s themes: Dwelling, Helping, Forgetting, Switching, Relying

Dwelling. Upon the fact that the holidays are creeping in on us.  I can’t help it.  My mind is fully wrapped around Christmas and all of the craziness that comes with it and I’m hoping that I’ll make it through alive again this year.  My business keeps growing.  Which is amazing.  But my level of orders is higher this year than last year at this time…which means that the holiday shopping season is all but going to kill me.  Caffeine IV drip, here I come.

Helping. Myself to some newly sewn goodies this week. I am still on a mission to create the most perfect pair of jeans for myself.  Which isn’t an easy task.  But I made some perfectly-okay jeans for myself to learn from.  I also finished crocheting gloves & fingerless gloves for the fall/winter season.  AND made the cutest fold-over clutch, which I am majorly crushing on right now (and considering making more of to sell).

Forgetting. How delicious sushi is.  And how nice it is to slip away for a date with Bennett every once in a while.  We had Mary watch Louis for a little bit on Wednesday and we snuck out to the local Japanese steakhouse for some [inhaling of] sushi.  It was full of yum.  And a nice little one-on-one moment with Bennett that I don’t always get as much of anymore.

Switching. My planner over from a completely me-made one to a Happy Planner.  It’s bigger than I’d expected but I really like it so far.  I still need to sit and fill in all of the birthdays and holidays and already-planned-days but it’s pretty.  And I went the super extra dorky mile and sewed up a cover for it.  I needed a place to put my pens.  And that spiraled into sewing an entire case for it.  So.  Yeah.

Relying. On said planner to keep me in check.  I’ve got two GIANT blog tours to get finished up, photographed and blogged before the month’s end.  And then my Top Stitchers item to dream up, execute and photograph for early October.  Oh wait.  And I also agreed to do a Dia de los Muertos post at the end of October.  And then of course we’ve got Halloween costumes to make for all three of us from scratch.  Oy.  Is cloning a thing yet?

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
