Sunday Lately :: Week 39

Sep 27, 2015

Good morning!  I’m excited about all of the newbies that keep coming around to link up with Nicole, Meghan and myself!  Thanks for letting us know what’s happening with you lately.

Today’s themes: Updating, Reminding, Needing, Wearing, Being

Updating. Our collection of family albums to finally include one from 2011.  Crap.  I’m so far behind on getting everything into a book.  The sad part is that I have all of our photos edited (I edit and weed them the second they hit our computer!) and I have something written for each set of photos because I practically blog everything we photograph anyway.  I just need to put the two together.  Why is that last step so hard?

Reminding. Myself how much I love fall colors, especially as I crochet and sew for myself and the shop.  Although I do love a good, bright, cheery color in the spring and summer…something about plaids and orange tonal colors just speak to me.  So pretty.

Needing. To set aside more time for one-on-one dates with Louis.  He could sit with me and talk for HOURS if I let him.  And trust me, I would let him.  But it seems like our best times are when we’ve set out to just hang out, outside of the house, without the distractions of things in our home.  I took him to Panera the other night (for overly priced everything) and we talked the entire time about dinosaurs, school, Star Wars, super heroes, friends he’s made….everything.  It’s amazing to hear about the world from his point of view and I need to make the point to do it more often.

Wearing.  Ripped up skinny jeans and plaids.  Breaking out all of the plaids and flannels that I have and freeing them from their summertime jail.  I have been getting bored with my clothes lately and I think it’s because my favorite things to wear are all long sleeved or long pants.

Being. Pretty freaking happy.  It’s not hard to be.  We face our own battles but this little family unit of mine is pretty solid.  (Even if I spent pretty much all of yesterday having an emotional showdown with a certain five-year old.)  I lucked out with those two guys of mine.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
