100th Day of School!

Jan 29, 2016

Today is Lou’s 100th day of school and his class was asked to bring something to school in quantities of 100.  We sent him with a gallon bag full of one-hundred minifigs…but I couldn’t help myself and wanted to make him something to wear.

Because if you don’t get to dress in theme, how do you survive?

I thought it would be fun to print something one-hundred times on a tshirt.  After a little brainstorming with that creative kiddo of mine, we decided to write his name all over his tee.  Louis loves (LOOOOOVES) writing his name.  Well, he’s super into writing anything and everything right now.  But his name is the number one thing that gets jotted down.  And personally, I adore his signature.

I had him write his name two times, just so we could pick the better of the two.  And then I vector-ized it and created a cut file for my Silhouette Cameo.  After all one-hundred of his names were cut out of some heat transfer vinyl, I printed it onto some fabric that we turned into a tee.  (Using the Patterns for Pirates Jolly Roger Raglan, of course!)

Fifty were printed on the front and fifty on the back.  I seriously can’t get enough of the cuteness of this shirt.  I think it turned out so fun!  And his signature seriously gives me all the heart eyes.

Kiddo was super excited to show his teacher his new shirt this morning.  He loves all of his clothes that I make him but they’re extra exciting and special to him when he gets to be a part of it.  And more than just picking the fabric…but actually doing some design work.  He’s got plans for more already, I think we’ve got a sewing/clothing designing date this weekend.

Lou wanted to spell his name in photos.  Of course I’ll let it happen!  This boy of mine…

Happy 100th Day of School, kiddo!  Can’t wait until you get back from school so I can hear about all of the fun stuff you did for your class party today!
