#BennettsThirsty30

Jan 18, 2016

Let’s just start out by saying that I had a major wife fail and didn’t take hardly any pictures on Friday, during Bennett’s birthday party.  In fairness, it was jam packed full of people that I wanted to chat with…rather than take photos and be antisocial.  Plus, Bennett was feeling sub-par (and is now rocking a major case of strep throat) so the Man of the Hour wasn’t even in full blown party mode.

That’s not saying we didn’t have fun!  It was a blast!  Really.  So many of our friends joined us at the restaurant and had some delicious (and an obscene amount of) fried foods, drank beers, and laughed.  A lot.

I couldn’t help myself and I made a few fun decorations.  Party hats and koozies as take-aways for the guests.  We got some balloons (not pictured of course, whoops) from The Paper Shack in town.  We hung some streamers around the room, and cut some letters for a “Bennett’s Thirsty 30” banner sign.  I made some silly signs with facts about 1986, as well as had a couple with the image I made for the big birthday.

Considering we decided to have an official party five days before the party happened, I think we put together an okay scene!  My favorite thing was the head-in-a-hole board that I made.  The kids loooooved it.  And I wish I’d gotten more pictures of it in use.  I took some chalkboard vinyl and created a “chat bubble” so people could write something on the board.  Super dorky, super silly, super fun.

We have a lot of friends with beautiful kiddos that like to come and play with Louis…and I’m glad that we got to see so many of the munchkins on Friday.  Louis is a social butterfly (can’t imagine where he gets that!) and loves being surrounded by people of his own size.  I think it’s adorable that this threesome all showed up in Star Wars shirts.  Kids after my own heart.

Even if Bennett was on the brink of a full-body breakdown…I think he had a great party.  We have the world’s greatest friends, you know?

Happy 30th to this guy.  Love you, darling!

Oh my goodness this is so much fun! You are such a cool wife. I’ve got a couple of years until my hubby’s 30th, but I looove the decorations and hashtag you made!
