This week’s themes: Updating, Remembering, Needing, Wearing, Being.
Updating. My arsenal of sewing tools with a new overlocker. It was my end-of-the-year purchase for my business…and it’s pretty freaking awesome. I still have a ton to learn, but I tend to just like to jump right into things, rather than practice, so I’ve already made a few shirts with her. Hemming has never been so exciting in my life.
Remembering. That Bennett likes to get new me-made clothes too. So I finally whipped up a new raglan shirt for him, using the Jerry’s Raglan Pattern from Coles Creations. It’s a raglan, so it’s super fast to make AND I actually had some great solids to use from my Black Friday online fabric shopping (helloooooo super soft french terry and ponte). I’m hoping it’ll quickly become part of his regular rotation of clothes. And I’m thinking that I can continue to fill our closets with all handmade as the months and years go by. It’s super thrilling to me!
Needing. To get my butt in gear and plan a fantastic birthday night for Bennett. He turns THIRTY on Friday!! I’d really like to make a thing of it and have some friends meet us out for a night on the town (which is something we never do). Time is ticking, so I need to make it happen. Stat.
Wearing. All of the new shirts I’ve been making while they are in testing for P4P. Shocker, right? We’ve got a brand new shirt releasing early this week and then two updates on some of her early patterns coming out soon as well. Lots of sewing and excitement around here!
Being. Just as freaking busy as I was in December. What the crap? I thought January would be my re-boot month but I feel like I can’t get to a point where I can work on new things. Damnit. I have a ton of ideas that I keep writing down, but I can’t design them if I don’t have the time to sit and make them happen. Sigh. Someone clone me??
