Sunday Lately :: Week 63

This week’s themes: Creating, Finding, Switching, Forgetting, Craving.

Creating. So many new shirts for myself.  And my family.  But mostly me (whoops!).  It’s not my fault that Patterns for Pirates’ Sweet Tee dolman is so freaking fast to make.  I’ve worn and made one two days in a row…and if I have time this morning before we head out to a birthday party, I’ll probably make another so I can wear it today too.  #sweetteeaddictsannoynmous

Finding. That I’ve totally failed at scheduling myself the last month and a half.  I DID SO WELL IN JANUARY.  And then something happened and I’ve totally dropped the ball.  I’m aware of it, I just can’t seem to get back into a pace.  Maybe tomorrow, I can start a new strict schedule for my “workday” at home, and it’ll bounce me back into place.  Fingers crossed.  I get all willy-nilly if I don’t have structure.

Switching. From winter to spring clothes.  And it’s fricken awesome.  I don’t want to put away my warmer clothes quite yet, but we’ve had some fabulous weather lately and it’s been a treat.  We’ve just had so much more fresh air in our lungs, Louis has been able to have multiple playdates on outdoor playgrounds, and in general we act less like hermits when the weather in nicer.  I’m digging it.

Forgetting. What it feels like to be woken in the middle of the night by a child in need.  Louis has always been a great sleeper (since he was 3 weeks old! brag brag brag) but there have been nights that he’s been sick/scared/etc and we had to help calm and care for him in the dark.  My brain DOES NOT turn on sometimes [ever] when I’m woken from a dead sleep.  He was having a tough time sleeping last night around 1:00am and I did the best I could in my braindead state, but I’ll have to give major props to Bennett who always jumps straight into action.  Louis has been eating like a mad man lately, so I’m thinking nighttime discomfort is also a sign of him growing.  Growing pains are a real thing!  

Craving. Coffee.  But that’s not “lately”…that’s “always”.  I am leading my first ever Sew-A-Long on the Patterns for Pirates blog and group, starting Monday…and I’ve got a lot of things to get together before the launch of it.  Sewing, photographing, blogging, marketing, etc.  It’s a lot of work but it’s going to be fun to be leading and sewing along with 600+ other women!
