Mabel Madison Performance Fabrics + P4P Peglegs

Sep 6, 2016

Emily from Mabel Madison contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I wanted to test out some new fabrics that were coming to her shop.  She said the words “fun” and “fabrics” and I was all about it.

Mabel Madison has a huge amount of poly/spandex that is currently being sold in flash sales in their Facebook Group, but will be heading to their website storefront soon as well.  I had originally thought about coming up with other, fun ways to sew up what she sent me…but then I also knew that there was a void of workout clothes in my wardrobe, so I opted for some leggings for all of them instead.

Four outfit changes for one photoshoot is no joke!  I wanted to have different shirts with all of them too, so I paired my peglegs with Fabric is My Love Language (BUY / DIY), Sewing is My Cardio (BUY), Coffee Beer Fabric (coming soon), and Little Miss Sew and Sew (DIY).

The big question with fabric for leggings is if it’s stretchy enough to even get them on, and once on it’s thick enough to cover your rear.  I can attest to all of the fabrics that I tried here that they do work.  And they work awesomely!

The only one of out of these four that I’m the slightest big iffy on is the green zebra version.  And that’s only because the fabric has glitter on it.  And glitter does as glitter does…it gets EVERYWHERE.  While I don’t mind it as much, Bennett isn’t so keen on having glitter show up in random places on him.

I don’t know why.  Carrying a little extra sparkle with you wherever you go sounds like a lovely thing.

Remember, if you’re a member of Patterns for Pirates’ Facebook group, that you can get your hands on a code that makes these Peglegs free!   And be sure to head over to Mabel Madison and snag some of these fab fabrics for yourself!
