Completing. Our first ever Thanksgiving at home, as a Bennett/Katy combo. We’ve always traveled to be with Bennett’s family and spent the week in a cabin in the woods or a condo on the beach. This time, we were here with part of the family…but in Wheeling. We probably could have handled it a little better and not been so down about not being away, but it was an emotional struggle for us. We did still have a good time as we hung out around a fire, stuffed and drank ourselves silly and played board games with Louis. It just didn’t feel like the Thanksgiving we’ve known so faithfully for the past ten years. Change is hard.
Visiting. With some laaaaaaadies earlier this week. Oh it was the best decision I’ve ever made. One of my biggest takeaways from my Dancing with the Ohio Valley Stars buildup was that I needed to do more “me things”. Like, completely selfish things that get me out of the house, where I surround myself with my own tribe of friends (in this case, gorgeous and supportive women). We had dinner and drinks and giggled ourselves silly. It was the best.
Repeating. The couch-cuddle session that we had yesterday. Okay, or not. But that would be amazing. It’s possible that we went out drinking on Friday night and then our bodies punished us a bit on Saturday. But it gave us the chance to take it easy and be completely lazy. And snuggle with our fur babies. What’s better than that?
Writing. Some patterns up for Patterns for Pirates holiday goodies. They are small and easy, but it’s still something that I’m drafting by hand, scanning into the computer, drafting in Ai, and then leading a testing group with. So it’s a start-to-finish type draft and it is cool that I’m confident enough to even start something like that. I started doing work for Judy back in November-ish of last year and I am still a) in awe that she picked me as one of her team members and b) just loving how much I’ve learned in that short year. It’s been an absolute honor to learn from Judy and her sisters. They are kind of the bees knees.
Scheduling. A TON of blogging and sewing and sharing in December. Starting with December 1. Brace yourselves. Katy will be back in full force in this little corner of the web. It’s going to be something! Haha.
By the way! Can we celebrate for a minute here?!?! We just reached our ONE HUNDREDTH edition of Sunday Lately! That’s AMAZING! We will be rounding out the year soon and then starting up our third year of it. Crazy town, you guys. Thanks for always hanging out with us on Sunday mornings! I hope it’s been a treat for you like it has been for me!
