Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!
This week’s themes: Basking, Discovering, Tinkering, Feeling, Switching.
Basking. In the glory of a lazy Sunday. We’ve basically had the week from hell, followed up by an insanely busy Friday and Saturday. So today…with no real plans…heaven.
Discovering. That I would be a terrible single mom. Okay, so maybe I’d figure out how to work it all out after a while. But when Bennett’s sick (like he was with strep throat this week) I have to take on all the responsibilities that are usually shared. It’s a ton of stress and needing to be “on” all the time. EXHAUSTING. Kudos to all the parents that do it on a regular basis. You’re all superheroes.
Tinkering. With some new wooden goodies. We’ve got earrings now! And they’re pretty cute.
Feeling. Worn out. But pretty happy with the weekend of fun we just had. Bennett’s sisters flew in from Washington to celebrate their dad’s 70th birthday on Friday with a dinner and drinks. So many drinks, haha. We stayed up crazy late for us old fogies. And then on Saturday, Bennett and I went to the CELEBRATE fundraiser at Lou’s school. It was a speakeasy theme for the second year in a row and we dressed for the occasion…and then photographed it all. Live auctions are so much fun to watch. It’s an entertaining night, to say the least.
Switching. My winter wardrobe into warmer weather gear. It’s not exactly summer yet…but being able to put away my tall boots and switch into booties and slip-on shoes makes me so happy. It’s time to get more fresh air and stop being trapped in the house so much. I am beyond excited for the spring bloom.
