Sunday Lately :: Week 132

Jul 9, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Baking, Soaking, Learning, Exercising, Collaborating

Baking. Uhhh….nothing?  Bennett is the cook, I just sit back and eat all of the things.  Ha!  But, I did actually make a yummy  meal the other day for Bennett’s parents and us, to celebrate Mary’s retirement.  Like, I made the whole thing.  Came up with the idea for what to eat too!  It’s not that I can’t cook, it’s just that Bennett always does…so I don’t get around to it too often.

Soaking. Up some sun and nerdery while at the Y-Con in Zanesville, OH today.  A small brewery there held a comic con, so we went and I of course made us some outfits to wear.  Because what would I be if I didn’t sew for something like this?!?

Learning. How to design in Illustrator a little bit.  I’m working on something for P4P that I can hopefully pull off.  And I’ll have a quick freebie on my blog in a couple of weeks.  It should be fun!  But such a learning curve!

Exercising. My rights to take ridiculous selfies and post them on the internet.  I was joking about how I was doing the “Nicole” and the “Judy” and the “Katy” pose in this little trio.  When you take as many photos of yourself as we do, you learn what works best for you when in front of the camera.  So we three certainly have our own little “I always do this” poses, without really trying.

Collaborating. With the Vintage Lace ladies on some fabrics!  I asked them last Christmas-ish if they’d be interested in a print I had in mind.  And then I totally dropped the ball and didn’t get them anything.  BUT, they’re running preorders for it starting in August.  And I get the strikes to play with soon.  SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
