July BeeBox | Vinegar + Honey Co.

Jul 27, 2017

Sharing my BeeBox make every month is becoming one of my favorite things!  Surprise fabric mail is so fun and the challenge of making something with them is so good for my creative spirit.  I also adore the little cards that are sent in each box.  I feel like Allison and Lauren are my bffs when I read them, and that they’ve put so much thought into what they’ve sent each of us BeeBoxers.

This month, my package was filled with two fabrics: a mint sweater knit with flecks of grey and a ribbing look to it.  And an insanely soft grey sweater knit with fantastic drape to it.

I held it up against my body and was like….THIS NEEDS TO BE A PUMPKIN SPICE DOLMAN.  The drape of the grey was calling for it.

Back when we updated the PSD, we added a short sleeve length that I just die over during the late summer/early fall months.  It’s so slouchy and comfy and I want to live in them.  This sweater knit was the perfect match for this pattern and I can easily wear it beyond the hot season that we’re in right now.

Before anyone asks: Yes, I did widen the neckline of my top.  Unless I’m testing the pattern, you can probably guarantee that I’ve widened/lowered it for myself.  I like a more open neckline to help balance my big head and bust.  It’s just a personal preference and nothing related to the patterns themselves.  (My Mom would tell you that I’m trying to show off my boobs……….. ::eye roll emoji goes here::)

If you haven’t heard of the BeeBox from Vinegar + Honey Co. before…
It’s a subscription fabric service.  You sign up for the monthly deliveries but you are able to skip a month or cancel at any time.  They even have a WeeBox, filled with fabric geared toward boys or girls.

For $25, you get:
— 2 yards of gorgeous fabric*
— Inspiration for what to create
— Coupon code for a discount on the pattern they featured that month
— Shipping! That’s right, shipping is included!

*Yardage may be a continuous cut of the same fabric or two complementary fabrics. See pictures for past examples.

BUT WAIT!

Before I go, I need to share with you one more awesomesauce thing from VHCO.  They have a custom print that’s available called “Sew Crazy” and it is so crazy awesome.  (See what I did there?)  They sent me a yard of it in the french terry base and I just love it so much.

Bennett keeps threatening to color me.

Isn’t it fabulous?  I love the graphic element of it.  It’s an explosion of craftiness!  And it even has yarn…which is one of my first loves.  I simply adore it and I think that Team VHCO hit this one out of the park for sure!

The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
