Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!
This week’s themes: Cooking, Demanding, Planning, Borrowing, Arranging
Cooking. Lower calorie, healthier meals for the family. But when I say “cooking”, I really mean “Bennett is cooking.” Because he was gone one of the nights…and my meal became a veggie chicken patty and a bowl of peas. I used to be so good at cooking and would take care of all of my neighbor boys in college even. But after meeting Bennett, he took over in the kitchen and that was pretty much it for me. (I am still the primary baker in the house though. So I can at least claim that part.)
Demanding. That Louis stop growing up so quickly. Parents: Don’t have babies in August. All of their milestones will hit at the same time and it will try and break you. And turn you into an emotional basketcase. Louis turns 7 next Saturday. AND he then starts 1st Grade on that following Tuesday. Dead. I’m dead. He’s getting so big and growing up so fast. Waaaaah.
Planning. Lou’s birthday party, of course! I haven’t been dedicating as much time as I have in the past to getting things accomplished, but I think we will still be pulling off a pretty great, science-themed bash for the boy. I’ll certainly be recapping it all on the blog with photos of ALL THE THINGS.
Borrowing. Ideas from the internet and making new display cases for our booths for local events. Bennett and I went to Lowes last night and got the supplies to build a wall and I’m pretty excited about how it turned out. Simple concept, but I think it will really be a big change in the way we get to present ourselves. I’ll be trying it out today (hopefully) at a school fundraiser that I’m vending at. 25% of my sales will be heading to the Woodsdale Elementary School Playground Fund, so I’m hoping that some people come out and shop around with the local vendors!
Arranging. For the apartment on our property to be prepped and ready for my Momma! Because after all of the begging and whining I’ve done, she’s finally decided to come live near us. I’m not sure why I think it’s a good idea to have both Bennett’s parents AND my Mom living in the same space as me…but for some reason it’s been our goal and we are about to make it happen. Louis is excited for sleepovers and more play time with her pups. I’m excited to just have her close to me again. It’s been almost 15 years since high school, when I had quick access to my own momma. Happy to have her back near me again.
