My favorite thing about my “sewing world” experience is the people I’ve met and the connections I’ve made during this journey. Sara from RP Custom Fabrics is one of those people who I’m seriously so happy to know. Even if I only know her through the internet. (Which is kind of how I know anyone these days…)
Sara has a team of strikeoff seamstresses, and I am luckily and happily part of that group. We just help her by sewing up her fabrics, photographing them, and sharing those photos and the love of her prints around the internet. I’m in a few strikeoff groups and they’re all fun to be part of. So much energy and camaraderie, and creativity! These ladies can bring it!
Sara has decided to feature her strikeoff team members each month by crowning them as the queen that month. My name was drawn first, and Sara sent me a crown and scepter — which makes this whole Queen thing the real deal. I felt like I needed to BRING IT for photos.
I grabbed my sparkliest shirt (a sequins top I found at a thrift store a while back) and my tulle skirt (found on Amazon HERE, aff link) and took my most royal pictures to-date. Let’s just go ahead and make note that I never even was nominated for court in high school. So to be crowned RP Royalty for October is basically the best thing ever.
Thanks Sara, for making my day. Or rather, my month. It’s a pleasure working with you!
