Sunday Lately :: Week 154

Dec 10, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Testing, Sketching, Surprising, Whistling, Ignoring.

Testing. My organizational skills over the next couple of weeks.  It’s super crunch time for Christmas orders that have come in, and I somehow have to balance that alongside of my own family’s Christmas needs.

Sketching. Out ideas for our Christmas cards.  Guys.  GUYSSSSSS.  I usually have mine sent out by now.  I haven’t even taken a family photo, decided what I’m making, or started working on them at all.  I’m so behind this year!  What happened to me?

Surprising. Myself by creating a gingerbread house with Louis that actually stayed together.  The first time, too!  It didn’t take an entire night of frustration and curse words to get it to look kind of like a house…it actually became a house.  Who knew this was a possibility?  Merry Christmas to us!

Whistling. Alllllll the Christmas songs.  Not mad.  Obvs the NSync album is #1 forever and always in my heart.  But I also have a super soft spot for the Glee Christmas album.  I refuse to apologize for my music choices.  They are perfect.

Ignoring. The pain in my wrist until I had to break down and get some support for it.  It’s not constant, but my wrists have been taking a beating with all of the computer, crochet, and sewing work that I do.  So I will don my oversized slippers, shuffle around in my unvaccumed sewing studio, and wear this wrist support until I can give myself a break.  #oldladystatus

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    I love it! You are so sweet/cute! I, too, suck at gingerbread houses. Congrats on getting it to stick! It’s like they make those things impossible on purpose, all in the name of family bonding or something. haha. Love the slippers too. And good luck with the cards! We are in the same boat. I was going to take our family photo this year…which hasn’t even happened yet, let alone printing or mailing. I’m beginning to wonder if I can somehow crop and photomerge all of us together in some photoshop creation. It could work, right? bahaha. 😉 I’m sure you’ll get it done. If not, new years cards with those “about our year” things are always cute too.

      I officially finished them on Saturday. They aren’t in the mail yet, but I at least got the hard part done. Thanks for being my cheerleader, haha. I think a weird photomerge would be perfect! Like…make it so obvious that it was photoshopped together, so you can laugh about it and not get too worked up that things aren’t going as planned this year. Maybe that will help us take the sting off? Letting it all hang out?

    I usually have my cards out by this time too! Just got the proof finished and hoping to get the physical cards and stamps this week. Totally using a photo taken of us last Christmas too, LOL

      When you’re pregnant, you have all the excuses in the world to be late or absent on everything, haha. That’s just how it works!
