One of my favorite things about sewing and getting fabric mail is that I get to make something and then take pictures of my sweet boy. The WeeBox was such a fun monthly snapshot of Lou and I’m sad to say that this is the last month the VHCO girls are sending them out. Waaaaah!! I guess that it’s “lucky me” that I got in on the December version.
This month’s happy mail was in the form of some cacti prints. And oh my goodness they’re so cute!!! We got a yard and a half of the base print, and then a panel of a coordinating graphic. I believe there were four in total that could have come to you, ours was “Pretty Fly for a Cacti”. Which was super fun because I got to feel really old while explaining to Louis what fly meant.
Trends are funny, aren’t they? Pineapples were huge for a while. People started eating brussels sprouts again. And now cactus designs are the next hot thing. It started to sprout up at the end of the Summer 2017, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be raging this year. Good thing the VHCO girls are ahead of the trend!
Of course I used one of my trusty Patterns for Pirates patterns for this top. The YoHo Henley is a great set-in sleeve, and I borrowed the Jolly Roger Raglan add-on pack’s kangaroo pouch to be able to use the panel for Lou’s shirt. I did have to increase the height of the kanga pouch a little bit, so I could fit the entire design, but I don’t think it really looks “oversized” so I’m good with the adjustment.
And now to decide what to officially make with my December BeeBox! AHH!!
