Sunday Lately :: Week 158

Jan 7, 2018

We are changing things up a little bit for SL 2018 and bringing on co-hosts!  This week’s featured host is Aubrey from Always Aubrey. This girl is AH-DORABLE and blogs some of the most mouth-watering foods I’ve ever seen.  Go say hi!

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Cherishing, Applauding, Singing.

Cherishing. Any extra time I can get right now for creating.  I’m back in an office between 3 and 5 days a week, for the next 90 days, and it’s been so different for me.  I’m used to being in my sewing studio all day, every day.  Right now, I’m super happy when I get any time to sneak up there and finish a project that I’ve started / been wanting to start.

Applauding. Myself a little bit.  Or maybe a lot.  Because I just put out my first ever paid-pattern!  I made these hats years ago for my Caps for Chemo promotion and finally took my chicken scratch pattern pieces and turned them into a digital format.  I’m so excited!  They’ve been pretty well received and I’ve already had the pleasure of seeing a few hats already made using my pattern.  I’m dying over it.  It makes my heart so happy!!  PS — you can go grab yourself a copy of the Wild Bunch Hats HERE, but make sure to join my Facebook group, so you can get the discount hookup!

Singing. More praises for Bennett than I thought I would be, over this darn fireplace.  I’ve been fighting him on getting a fire in this for years now.  Apparently it’s been several decades since the last flames were lit and we were nervous about burning the house down if something was wrong with the chimney.  We’ve had multiple people come and inspect it, but most of them have been very hands off and all “I’m not going to be the person who tells you to burn here”.  Finally we had a guy come that was super knowledgable and inspected it for hours, and gave the all-clear.  Which was the best news ever for my firebug husband, but I wasn’t super excited about having a burned wood smell in my house 24/7.  HOWEVER, it’s been so god damned cold out, that I’m actually welcoming the extra heat in here.  Who knew all it took was subzero weather to get me to change my mind?

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    That fireplace is GORGEOUS! No wonder he wanted to light a fire in it!

    Those hats are awesome! The photos on your mantel, are those on canvas or a different medium?

      Canvas! We are canvas-a-holics. Frames take up so much space when you could fill your walls with big photos.
