Just a Little DTY About Boho Fabrics

[two-thirds]Here’s my little DTY about Boho Fabrics: I adore Emily and her brand.  Really, I do.

Why DTY?  Because that’s the type of gorgeous fabric that she sent me!  It’s blue and white and gorgeous and is an DTY…which means “Draw Texturised Yarn”.  DTY yarn is a continuous filament yarn that has been processed to introduce durable crimps twists, interlaces, loops or other fine distortions along the lengths of the filament.  That process creates a super soft, super stretchy, super drapey fabric type.  It’s 100% my favorite fabric type to use for summer tops and dresses.

I’m in this weird limbo period at work where most of my “work friendly” tops are longer sleeved and more geared towards fall/winter wear.  So I’ve been scrambling a bit to make things that can be worn with a solid pant at work, and then transition it into something truly casual while at home.  I have a perfect navy pant to wear with this top at work and allllll the denim shorts when I’m not there, so this fabric totally made my life a little easier.

I chose the Mama Nina because I really wanted to play with the drape.  Nina is so fun because it’s wide and swingy, but you have to avoid thicker fabrics otherwise it looks like a tent, especially with bigger busts.  Not with DTY, my friends!  It is perfection with this style.  Forgiving, drapes beautifully and doesn’t trap heat in (like DBP does this time of year) to keep you mildly protected from sweating your way through this season.

Also, can we talk for a minute about this bird sized mosquito that landed on my leg during photos?  I didn’t even know it was there until I was editing pictures.  DIDN’T. EVEN. KNOW.  Welcome to West Virginia, folks.  Good lord!

This fabric is part of a restocking that’s taking place over at Boho Fabrics TODAY!  Don’t miss out.  But also, make sure to join her Facebook Group and shop often with Emily.  You won’t regret your decision to do so!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
