I love making things for Louis. I especially love when those things are a little more funky than just a normal tee. When RP Custom Fabrics started sharing their newest lineup of Jurassic prints I was all “GIVE ME ALL OF THEM NOW”. But I took a much cooler approach and instead just signed up to sew something for Louis.
When the fabrics arrived, I had a total of three fat halfs of coordinating prints. Okay cool. So what to make with awesome dino prints? A dino hooded tee, of course!!
I took the basic hood from the YoHo Henley pattern (which I used for the entire top) and extended it to a super dramatic shape that emulated a dinosaur tail. And then added a couple of spikes, lined it, and sewed it up like normal. Fun, right? My favorite is when it’s worn down, because it lays so cute and gives this fun spike down his spine.

Louis said that he doesn’t just like it, he LOVES it! But honestly, that’s what he says about basically everything I make for him. So….I’m not sure if this top stands out to him like it could, but I always appreciate the enthusiasm. I mean, how could I not?

As always, I’m in love with the print quality that RP Custom Fabrics provides. The tiny dinos almost look like polka dots, but are still super detailed and clear. And the colors are vibrant and perfect. Sara is for sure one of my go-to people with custom prints and those are just a few reasons why.
