Release Day is once again upon us over at Patterns for Pirates and I’m not mad for a second. I mean, how could I be? We have a new pattern to celebrate! What exactly is a logger? It’s what you would get if leggings and joggers had a baby. Seriously. They wear like a jogger, but have the look of leggings. And they have a lot less specific fabric requirements compared to a legging pattern like the Peg Legs, in that they only need 40-50% horizontal stretch and at least *some* vertical stretch.
The Loggers are awesome for so many different needs. My specific needs are comfy clothes I can move in.
I’m trying to get the most painful of the shares out of the way, which is me. in shorts. After a long, cold winter. Haha. If I haven’t lost you yet, I’m not sure what it takes.

Judy named this length “shorties” for a reason. They are short. If you’re hoping for a longer inseam, that’s the quickest fix ever. Just keep in mind that the edges on this entire pattern are finished with bands, so you’ll have to either do some new math (easy math!) or hem them instead. No sweat though, right?
I wish I’d been sewing apparel when I was in high school, during cheerleading and volleyball. Because seriously these are the exact shorts I used to wear during practice. It would have been SO MUCH BETTER to make my own. Gah!
If you want to make your own, you totally can. Fabric is so much easier to source these days. And obviously patterns too! What are you waiting for? Go make yourself a pair of comfy booty shorts and show off those legs you’ve been hiding all winter!
