We’ve been on a kick with Louis lately, watching classic movies from the 1980s and early 90’s. Since late September, we started watching movies in that era, but more on the Halloween themed side. Beetlejuice was on that list and Louis immediately knew what he wanted to be for Halloween this year because of it.
We have zero plans for trick or treating, or parties. But we’ve been Halloween-ing as much as possible. Pumpkin carving, movies, candy, silly songs on the ride to school, wearing all the themed outfits — we’ve done it all. I don’t feel like we are missing out on anything this year! We’ve just had to alter how we’re doing it.
Which includes making costumes, but finding new reasons to wear them. Which is why we made a Kid O’Clock News and had a Beetlejuice takeover. I died while watching Louis act this whole thing out. He’s so funny.
Not gonna lie, adding this makeup was one of the more challenging things for the Bennett/Katy team. Costume makeup apparently is not our forte. I’m going to blame most of it on the medium we were using. But a huge part of it is that we have zero skillset with makeup. Ha. But I think we pulled it together and made it work!
This costume was one of the easier ones to put together, to be honest. We cheated by using a button down that was already in his closet. And then purchased a black tie and ridiculous wig. But the rest of the outfit was all momma-made.
Both pieces are from Patterns for Pirates. The bottoms are the Pirate Playground Pants, and the jacket is an altered Lumberjack Shirt. All in all, I think he looks like a pretty slick ghost with the most.
Happy Halloween, y’all! Be safe out there!
