Fabric for Pirates :: June 2021 Reveal

Jun 15, 2021

We’ve hit the halfway mark in the month, which means it’s time to share the fabric that we sent out for June’s Fabric for Pirates shipment!  This month has FLOWN by, and I can’t believe it’s already reveal day for this adorable subscription fabric!

For June, we wanted to send something that screamed summer.  The fabric we ended up landing on was a Pointelle Ribbed Knit — which is a new base for me, that I’m learning to love.  Since this arrived for me to cut, pack and ship, I’ve bought a ton more yardage in solids and prints.  I’m kinda smitten with it!

Doesn’t this floral remind you of that royal blue delft pottery?  I thought it especially did when it was all stacked up in perfectly cut yardage amounts on my shelves.  PS — I just LOOOOOVE the times between me cutting and shipping the fabric.  It’s super weird, I’m sure.  But it’s so fun to have rows and rows of hundreds of the same fabric, neatly folded and stacked on top of one another.

Here are the official details of the fabric itself:

Pointelle Ribbed Knit
Width: 58/60″
GSM: 190.00
86%POLYESTER 9%RAYON 5%SPANDEX

Pointelle is a type of fabric with an intricate pattern as compare to simple knitting structures like a jersey knit. It often has a pattern with tiny holes typically in the shape of chevrons, where the structure is geometric in shape and with repeated design similar to lace. It can be a lighter weight knit pattern with small open spaces, subtle stripe, and floral effects.  I especially like that it’s a base that works for my own apparel sewing needs, but it’s also something I can use to make tshirts and other clothing items for Bennett and Louis too.

I made myself a Favorite Tee (I know, surprise surprise) but in dress length this time.  If you were ever looking for the perfect tshirt dress, look no further.  The Favorite Tee pattern is a BOSS for this very thing.  It features a curved hem, with higher side seams, and is super easy to wear.  I think you’ll love it if you try it!

And in case you didn’t know enough about the Fabric for Pirates subscription yet — here are the down and dirty details:

Sign up! Receive! Sew!  We all love fabric, sewing and color… our goal is to deliver some amazing fabrics to you — of which you can turn around and make some amazing things for yourself, your loved ones, or your shop. Each month, you will receive 2-yards of knit fabrics (on varying bases) in the mail. Most of the time it will be a continuous 2-yard length, but we might surprise you with some coordinating prints from time to time too.

The Fabric for Pirates subscription price is $30 and includes shipping. Right now, we are keeping it to US + Canada delivery only, but we hope to open it up beyond that soon!

You’ll get a fun surprise goodie included that we think most sewist would love along with videos, tips, and inspiration on what your fabric could be! One last treat in your monthly subscription is an exclusive discount code for you to use on any P4P pattern. So if your new fabric is begging for a new pattern you’ll have a coupon code to use!  **Payments process on the 1st of every month.

The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
