I am nearly dead over what I created with this month’s Fabric for Pirates. I literally cannot wait to share these photos with you — and it’s practically been torture to have to wait all the way until the official reveal day to do so! SO EXCITED that I get to talk about what I made. FINALLY!
Why was I so excited to share? Because I made Louis a track suit and it’s freaking adorable!!!!
Earlier in the spring, we went to Target and Louis picked out lightweight jacket/pant combo and I thought it was just about the cutest thing to see him wearing a head-to-toe matching outfit like that. I felt like it was necessary to make him another, and since he’s growing so quickly right now I figured it wouldn’t hurt to make it a teensy bit oversized.
Seriously, he’s grown an inch and a half in just a couple of months. WHAT IS HAPPENING??
I thought this honeycomb fabric was so cool with it’s texture, and I wanted to up the ante a little bit by adding a bunch of color blocking to my sewing. I think it turned out SO FUN.
This is the first time I’ve sewn the Go To Jacket since we released it. I’m actually shocked by that fact, considering how much I love to sew jackets. Not gonna lie…this round of sewing almost broke me. I kept doing things wrong with my colorblocking, and then I stupidly cut the zipper too short. I just kept making mistake after mistake and should have probably walked away and finished it later — but I kept pressing on. All in all, I’m super happy with the end results, so I shouldn’t harp on my mistakes too much.
Have you heard the hype around the “Tik Tok leggings” earlier this year? The fabric from those leggings is the same fabric that we bought in bulk and sent to our subscribers. I’ve never actually played with it before, or had a chance to, so I was super excited to get my hands on it. The fabric has a really nice weight, a super stretch (both horizontally and vertically), it’s soft and the color is gorgeous. I think it’ll be a great transition color as we head toward the fall. Don’t you?
Here are the official details of the fabric itself:
