Fabric for Pirates :: September 2021 Reveal

Sep 15, 2021

Y’all, I CANNOT believe that we are halfway through the month already!!  The only thing getting me through this harsh realization of time flying by is that I get to share this month’s Fabric for Pirates!!  It’s a good one too…..but then they all are, so who am I kidding?

Judy and I have been excitedly waiting to be able to send out a camo print to everyone.  Just like the leopard gorgeousness that went out in January, we know that these prints aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.  But we also really love the prints ourselves….so we take the risk and send it anyway.  So far, we’ve had nothing but love come back our way, and I’m hoping that people loved it like we do!

Even if camo isn’t your “thing”, this fabric should be.  I’ve been excited about sending out the fabric base to everyone, since it’s delicious all on it’s own.  The fabric is a “disperse knit”, and the best way we can think to describe it is that it’s kind of like a spun jersey knit.  It’s soft, has a beautiful drape, decent stretch, and the prints are always kinda faded / kinda vintage looking.  I think they’re gorgeous and I love wearing this fabric for tees!

Here are the official details of the fabric itself:
Camouflage Disperse Knit
Width: 58/60″
GSM: 160.00
Contents: 62% POLYESTER 33% RAYON 5% SPANDEX

I thought it would be fun to mash some patterns together.  And it was.  I was right, haha.

I took the sleeves off of the new Rainbow Dress pattern (in short sleeve this time!) and added it to the body of the Favorite Tee.  If you haven’t caught on yet, the Favorite Tee lives up to it’s name in my wardrobe.  It’s a favorite for sure.  I actually wish the fabric was a little stiffer for these sleeves, so it’d pronounce the “poof” a little more, but I still really like the combo of the two patterns and you’ll most likely be seeing more of this from me in the near future.

And in case you didn’t know enough about the Fabric for Pirates subscription yet — here are the down and dirty details:

Sew!  We all love fabric, sewing and color… our goal is to deliver some amazing fabrics to you — of which you can turn around and make some amazing things for yourself, your loved ones, or your shop. Each month, you will receive 2-yards of knit fabrics (on varying bases) in the mail. Most of the time it will be a continuous 2-yard length, but we might surprise you with some coordinating prints from time to time too.

The Fabric for Pirates subscription price is $30 and includes shipping. Right now, we are keeping it to US + Canada delivery only, but we hope to open it up beyond that soon!

You’ll get a fun surprise goodie included that we think most sewist would love along with videos, tips, and inspiration on what your fabric could be! One last treat in your monthly subscription is an exclusive discount code for you to use on any P4P pattern. Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
