Clone Force 99 : Team Wrecker

Oct 16, 2021

I’m continuing to share the items I made from the latest release from Patterns for Pirates, and next up on my list is this super fun Wrecker top I made for my kiddo!

With this release, we had a set of FOUR patterns all launch at once.  The Go Team Jersey, Go Team Jersey - Youth, Go Team Dress + Go Team Dress - Youth. Louis, Bennett and myself all got a few shirts out of the deal and I love them all equally.  Except that’s a lie because I think I love this one of Louis’ the most.

I mean, come on.  Star Wars?  How could this not be a favorite?

One of the coolest features of the new Go Team patterns is that it allows for a lot of creative “team spirit” tops.  I guess you could make a team shirt with any pattern…but this one feels so much more sporty and team spirit-like.  Am I right?  The color blocking with the yokes and the cool sleeve stripes give you these awesome built-in details.  Slap some HTV or another design to the front and back of these puppies and you’ve got yourself one of the best team shirts out there.  We are clearly Team Wrecker / Team Star Wars in our household!

The Go Team Jersey features:

  • Three necklines: Crew, V, Hooded.
  • Four sleeve lengths: Short, 3/4, Long Hemmed + Long Cuffed.
  • Front + Back Yokes.
  • Optional Sleeve Stripes.

For Louis’ shirt, we used these options:

  • Vneck
  • Short Sleeve
  • Sleeve Stripes

I’m not going to talk about the fact that he’s wearing a size 14 in these photos.  Which means that my BABY BOY is officially in the largest youth size pattern and I’ll have to start making him mens/adult sizes soon.  WAAAAAAAH.  Who allowed for this to happen????  My babyyyyyyy.

I shared this video on my Instagram while I was layering the HTV design for Wrecker’s helmet.  I figured it should live here too!  If you don’t know who Wrecker is…I’m sad for you.  He first appeared in The Clone Wars final season, as a member of The Bad Batch (a set of Clones that weren’t genetically exact like their Clone brothers).  They thankfully made a series for just them and aired it on Disney+ this summer.  It is so good.  The characters are all freaking awesome, and Wrecker is that classic muscle bound, wrecking ball type character….but has such a huge heart and a soft spot for the people he cares for.  We love the show so much and are looking forward to future seasons.  ::fingers crossed::

I’m pretty excited about this new pattern and all of the opportunities it brings for fun shirts in the future.  We love to rock a good theme in our household…so I’m thinking I’ve got school / Marvel / Star Wars and lots of other Go Team Jerseys to make in the coming years.
