Poe’s BB-8 Sweater :: FREE Lego Star Wars Inspired Silhouette + Cricut Cut Files!

Dec 10, 2021

I have been OBSESSED with making this top for myself for over a year now.  The day has finally come and I’m now moving my obsession to the finished item.  I freaking love it so much.

Maybe I should fill you in on why I’m so excited about this new top of mine.

They released a Star Wars Lego Holiday Special last year on Disney+ and it was adorable.  Perfectly dorky, gave lots of fanfare, poked fun at Star Wars things…it was the cutest.  What caught my eye the most in the special was the “ugly sweater” that Poe Dameron was wearing.  It doesn’t hurt that Poe is my absolute favorite and that I have a crush on both the character and the actor.  Poe and Oscar are both my boyfriends and my family is okay with it. 😉

Isn’t that BB-8 sweater that little Lego Poe is wearing just the cutest?  I needed it in my life.  NEEDED.  I just never got around to drafting up the design until this year.  And I figured, why not share it with y’all as well?  I can’t be the only person who was swooning over it while watching the movie last year!

I suppose this post is a 2-for-1 deal, because the fabric that I chose to make this top with is none other than the November shipment of Fabric for Pirates!!  Isn’t it stunning?  I was super duper busy during November getting the holiday freebies ready for Patterns for Pirates and didn’t get around to sewing anything up for myself.  Good thing I waited….because it was PERFECT for executing my Poe Dameron dreams!

I took the bodice of the Basic Tee and added the sleeves of the Rainbow Dress and it’s quite possibly my favorite combination of patterns at the moment.

And in case you didn’t know enough about the Fabric for Pirates subscription yet — here you go:

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
