Fabric for Pirates :: January 2022 Reveal

Jan 16, 2022

Woot woot!  It’s reveal time for this month’s Fabric for Pirates and I’m super duper excited to share with y’all what I made!  Like, I hated having to wait to share because I’m super smitten with my new sweater!

It’s quite possible that I used the EXACT SAME combo of patterns as I did for my last F4P make.  That being the Rainbow Dress sleeves and the Basic Tee bodice, both of which are patterns from P4P.  I love the fit of the Basic Tee bodice, it’s body skimming without being body fitting — and obviously I’m a super fan of funky and fun sleeves.

I maaaaay have gone a little over and above this month by adding pom poms to my sleeves.  And I am not even remotely sorry for my decision.  I freaking LOVE it.  I bought a huge bag of pom poms forever ago, with this exact mission in mind, I just never made it happen.  Thankfully I got out of my own creative ways and threw those little balls of happiness on my sleeves before sewing them up.  I’ll admit that I was a little nervous that it wasn’t going to be as cute as I’d hoped…but I’m pretty sure the results are better than I’d imagined.

Isn’t this the happiest sweater?

Here are the specifics of the fabric we sent this month:

Cashmere Sweater Knit
Width: 58/60″ GSM: 200.00
Material: 68% POLYESTER 29.5% RAYON 2.5% SPANDEX

We wanted to kick off the new year with some luxury and I think we nailed it with this fabric.  While white isn’t something I typically lean toward, it’s the fabric that I recommended to Judy that we send and she was in full agreement.  I think all fo the items that were made by our promo team were simply stunning — and how can you really go wrong with a classic, lush, gorgeous white cashmere?  I’m not sure you can!

And in case you didn’t know enough about the Fabric for Pirates subscription yet — here you go:

Sign up! Receive! Sew!  We all love fabric, sewing and color… our goal is to deliver some amazing fabrics to you — of which you can turn around and make some amazing things for yourself, your loved ones, or your shop. Each month, you will receive 2-yards of knit fabrics (on varying bases) in the mail. Most of the time it will be a continuous 2-yard length, but we might surprise you with some coordinating prints from time to time too.

The Fabric for Pirates subscription price is $30 and includes shipping. Right now, we are keeping it to US + Canada delivery only, but we hope to open it up beyond that soon!

You’ll get a fun surprise goodie included that we think most sewist would love along with videos, tips, and inspiration on what your fabric could be! One last treat in your monthly subscription is an exclusive discount code for you to use on any P4P pattern. So if your new fabric is begging for a new pattern you’ll have a coupon code to use!  **Payments process on the 1st of every month.
