I’m a little late in sharing but I’m still doing it, y’all! It’s time to talk about the fabric we sent out for June 2022’s Fabric for Pirates subscription!
I am not generally a fan of pink. Somewhat because of my coloring and hair color….probably somewhat because of the whole “pink tax” thing that seems to happen alongside female stereotyping. But either way, it’s not the first color I’d choose to put on my body.
Enter: this month’s Fabric for Pirates. Suddenly I’m like….how many scraps of this fabric do we have laying around so I can make more clothing items? Apparently I can get down with a watermelon pink! Who knew?
Fabric Details:
Ribbed Rayon Spandex
Width: 54” Content: 95% Rayon 5% Spandex
We wanted to go with something that had amazing drape and felt like full blown summer. And we nailed both of these needs/wants with this fabric! Anything with a decent amount of rayon content means that it’s going to have a gorgeous body and drape. The spandex in it just helps make it stretch!

So if your new fabric is begging for a new pattern you’ll have a coupon code to use! **Payments process on the 1st of every month.
This is also my moment to introduce you to the pattern I have in testing for P4P right now! It’s called the Valley Swing Dress (named after the Ohio Valley that Wheeling is located inside of) and it’ll be available in Youth and Adult – Hourglass sizes! This is just the basic bodice, in a dress length, and I’m IN LOVE! A fitted bust, semi-fitted waist and then oversized hips means that it’s such a comfortable, easy-to-wear fit!
Who is pumped about the Valley Swing Dress with me? What would you have made with this month’s fabric?

Ohhhhh. And here’s a little Reel I made for this fabric. I couldn’t help myself!
