Something super duper exciting has been happening in the background with the Patterns for Pirates team: We just grand opened a fabric shop!
It’s been a long time coming. Judy and I teamed up three years ago with the Fabric for Pirates monthly fabric subscription service. And since then, we’ve spent hundreds of hours learning about new fabrics, finding different wholesalers and suppliers, and figuring out how we can expand upon our love of fabric even more.
The grand opening is going on RIGHT NOW. Sorry that I’m a few days late on the sharing portion of this…I kinda sorta quit my job, helped GO a fabric company, traveled to NOLA for my biffie’s wedding, and am helping host a wedding at our home all in a 3-week timeframe. My head hasn’t exactly been on straight, haha.
I’m super proud of Judy and what she’s put together so far. We decided upon more of a “soft launch”. A smaller fabric lineup, only shipping within the United States, etc. We wanted to make sure we could get it perfectly perfect before we expanded and took on too much.
When you browse the fabrics that we have available now, I hope you really notice and appreciate all of the work Judy’s put into every little detail. She’s listed content, weight, stretch, color, multiple photos….as well as included coordinating fabrics (with photos of them side-by-side) and has videos for each of the fabrics to show them moving.
On top of that, we’ve put together a team of amazing sewists who have sewn the fabrics and are showcasing their amazing makes. I’ll be following with some posts about what I’ve made for myself too…since obviously I’ve gotten in on the Anchor Fabrics fun!
