I know, I know. You might be thinking: “Katy, didn’t you release The Wanderer Skirt back in 2017?”
Yes. I did. But it’s been six years of learning how to draft and design and I really wanted to go back and give it a little facelift. So here we are!
On the surface, there weren’t really any major changes. Here’s what’s new:
- Sizes extended to Plus 5X!
- Waistband + waist openings tightened up for a snugger / more comfortable fit.
- Side seams / seam allowances trued up.
- Tutorial adjusted for a cleaner look + more helpful info.
Let’s talk a little more about The Wanderer Skirt! Did you know that it was the first ::officially official:: sewing pattern that I ever did by myself? What a rush! I created it for a Cricut Sewing post, showing how I made my fabric with some fun gold polka dots. Goodness does that feel like a lifetime ago!

This beginner knit pattern is a fun take on a classic half-circle skirt. The silhouette is adorable on all sizes! AND (are you ready for this??) THERE ARE OPTIONAL POCKETS!! Whoop whoop!
The pattern is FREE and fits adult sizes XXS – Plus 5X.
The skirt features a tea-length back, which meets at the side seams where you can choose from two front hem lengths:
- Sweet (hits around knee height)
- Sassy (hits mid-thigh)
