Happy Fabric for Pirates share day, besties! I know that we typically share our fabric subscription on the 15th of each month, but I pushed it back a little bit because my shipping was delayed this month. I was a vendor at a 3-day festival, selling my handmade goods, and that took over my life for the first little bit of October.
But it was no sweat because everything made its way to our subscribers and the best news is I get to share what I made! Wooooooo!
When I say that we sent out some delightfully squishy goodness this month, I mean it. It’s the perfect grey and so incredibly soft, stretchy and cozy. So perfect for the changing season!

I was super duper excited to pull out the Modern Sweater pattern to make this sweater for myself! I didn’t realize how much I missed wearing my Modern Sweaters until this moment. It’s seriously one of my favorite patterns. I love that it’s kind of a classic sweatshirt fit, with the banded bottom and the blouse-y fit.
But then of course it has a lantern sleeve option and it’s elevated from a simple sweater to a simply awesome one. I love these sleeves so much.
I don’t know if you know this about me or not, but I basically wear Halloween clothes the entire month of October. And if I’m wearing something that isn’t specifically Halloween themed, I wear necklaces or earrings or something cheesy Halloween in accessories to make up for it. I adore Halloween and my dork level exceeds normal limits during this 31 day stretch.
Which is what I’m using to explain these photos also.

Before I go, I can tell you a little bit about the design I applied to my Modern Sweater! I’m sure you’re all wondering. (Or not, that’s just something I’m going to tell myself to feel better….ha.)
I’ve been experimenting with different ways to apply full color designs to my apparel. Obviously my dream would be to purchase a DTF printer. But since I seriously will never be able to handle the maintenance required for those suckers, I’ll just keep purchasing transfers from my favorite vendor.
BUT. For me, a person who is always impatient and in need of the ability to make things on the fly, I think I’ve found the perfect workaround!
Siser (who also happens to make my favorite brand of vinyl that I’ll live and die by) has a new product called EasyColor DTV. It’s awesome. A little pricey, but awesome. You can print it on your inkjet printers at home and then use a print + cut method on your Silhouette / Cricut / Siser / Brother die cutting machines and just iron it onto whatever you’re trying to decorate.
I may do a more in depth post about the process because I think it deserves it’s own screentime. But until then, just know that Siser EasyColor DTV is great. The colors were perfect, I’ve washed my top a couple of times now and it’s still the same brightness as before, and the transfer is very soft and it doesn’t feel heavy as a big print on the shirt.
Okay that’s all for now! I promise I’ll be back with more info on this new product!
